SCOPE & DUTIES
Outstanding growth opportunity with a  global bio-pharmaceutical consultancy serving buyers, vendors
and investors engaged in the business of clinical development outsourcing. The company’s client base
includes bio-pharmaceutical organizations, CROs, universities and other institutions, and the private
investment community. They are focused on the development of specific commercial platforms and
strategic initiatives that directly expand their clients’ businesses and support their growth aspirations.
The firm utilizes SMART.3™, a proprietary strategic tool, to accelerate and expand win rates for vendors
and standardizes their sales initiatives.

Scope:
The Director of Business Development will work on behalf of the firm  for one or more of our clients
utilizing the methods and tools of the Company.  The candidate will be a strong home-based BD person
with a background in Clinical Research as well as CRO selling experience. We are looking for an
entrepreneurial, polished professional, with high energy and self-motivation. The Director must be
capable of establishing and managing executive level relationships with prospective bio-pharmaceutical
clients to generate new and repeat business for our clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
•        Building and executing business plan for achieving quarterly and annual revenue and pipeline
objectives.
•        Identification of new business leads, by telephone or in-person, including qualification and needs
assessments.
•        Building and maintaining a sales opportunity pipeline utilizing our client’s tools.
•        Positioning our client’s services to prospective client executives.
•        Developing effective proposals and persuasively closing new business opportunities utilizing our
SMART.3 methodology.
•        Maintaining client relationships and building new business relationships
•        Providing market feedback concerning the effectiveness of products, services and marketing
programs.
•        Management of territory and named accounts.
•        Strategic ability to identify needs and problem solve for clients.
•        Coordination with senior management, project teams, and team leads/project managers
•        Coordination with client company's business groups for staffing and proposal/project development

REQUIREMENTS
•        BA/BS degree in science, nursing, or business
•        3 - 5 years experience selling in the CRO space
•        Willing to travel up to 50%
•        Professional, focused, goal-oriented, team player
•        Ability to liaison between sales and operational teams
•        Strong presentation skills
•        Excellent relationship building skills
•        Ability to articulate a compelling value proposition
